Leigh Adams is a former children’s librarian and outdoor education teacher who is passionate about providing learners of all ages the opportunity to explore and acquire new skills. She disseminates her creativity through instruction, demonstration and implementation of an array of hands-on fine arts crafts and environmentally sustainable gardening and landscaping projects.
Leigh is a consulting educator and designer with Studio Petrichor, a sustainable and environmentally aligned landscaping practice. The Studio Petrichor team facilitates hands-on workshops, educational seminars, design courses and individual landscaping projects. Their mission is to enhance biodiversity and foster relationships between the land and our communities.
Leigh’s connection to public art, watershed management, and adaptive education inform her approach to each new garden project. She is Artist In Residence with Los Angeles County and at Norma Coombs Elementary School and New Horizon School in Pasadena, CA both in gardening and mosaic art.
Leigh also teaches mosaic construction and installation with Piece by Piece. Piece by Piece is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit with the mission of empowering those who have experienced homelessness or economic insecurity by providing free mosaic art workshops enabling them to build confidence, earn supplementary income, promote wellness and an improved quality of life.
