Citizens give their cities accolades for things like large number and variety of free public events, green spaces, median salary, variety and accessibility to alternative transportation (non-auto), overall innovation and availability of digital services, cleanliness, etc. Also, coming up high is “great place to raise a family.” For example, in Zurich it so safe kids can get to school on their own starting in kindergarten.
Of the top 100 there were no U.S. cities in the top 10. And only New York City, at number 17 made it into the top 20. There are 9 other U.S. Cities on the list…… San Diego 34, Salt Lake City 56, Columbus, Ohio 63, Los Angeles 70, Washington DC 70, Seattle 89, Baltimore 84, San Antonio Texas 89 and Nashville 96.
