Earmilk, an online music magazine, is a much needed legitimate ”new music discovery” megaphone. A great example is their recent spotlight on “Your Mother Said” from artist Khemet McConville in an article by Malvika Padin and photo by Nolwen Cifuentes. As a result of their spotlight in addition to this new release I discovered other music by the artist on Spotify I will also add to my playlist. Odds are stacked against independent musicians with streaming service algorithms skewed to favor deals cut between them, major labels and mega superstars.
