KEYS (Keep Encouraging Youth to Succeed) Enterprises is a Maryland-based 501c3 nonprofit, grounded in the mission of empowering the marginalized and disadvantaged. Services and support are delivered using innovative methods designed especially to meet each individual’s unique needs. KEYS’ initiatives focus on supporting Baltimore’s underserved communities. .

Enterprises
Through its programs the organization provides services and support to over 3,000 at risk teens and young adults annually. And prevents/de-escalates over 2,000 incidents a year such as police-involved or emergency room incidents, mental health crises, incidents of physical altercations or violence and homelessness related emergencies.
KEYS was founded in 2009 by Mujahid Muhammad, as a junior in college, to provide therapeutic intervention services to youth in group homes throughout the city of Baltimore. Upon completing college, he earned a Master’s in Clinical Social Work, and partnered with Abdul Salaam (Chief Operation Officer) and Keith Roles. The three transformed this initiative into the comprehensive nonprofit it is today – adding clinical services for individuals and families as well as senior support services, youth recreation programs, and a security workforce training program.

Enterprises
KEYS commitment to the local community delivers strong results through their Community Health Center, 7-days-a-week community access to their state of the art gymnasium, amphitheater and music studio, out-patient mental health clinic, a community meals and nutrition program and workforce development and youth work programs and special programs for the most at risk youth populations impacted by homelessness, the juvenile justice system and other detrimental social impacts.
The organization recently added an annual International travel experience for youth. This will provide an opportunity for at risk youth to travel to Ghana for a cultural and history education experience. The inaugural group excursion took place this year.
